Through your support of Simply Hand Made we are able to:
Promote the unique work of local artists.
Preserve the antique jail building that we call home.
And Provide funds for the independent Fredericksburg Community Library.

But that isn’t all!  We have also started Art in the Park, an annual outdoor event to kickstart the library’s summer reading program and foster a love of both art and literacy in children.  Attendance continues to increase each year, and summer reading participation continues to go up!

Our hope is to continue to find new ways to support both the arts and literacy in our community, and your patronage makes that possible.  Thank you and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Holiday Hours
We are staffed by volunteers, and so our store hours will be a little different this holiday weekend:
Thanksgiving: CLOSED
Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Looking ahead:  Our last day of the season to shop will be December 23rd.  After that we will be closed to restock, rearrange, and refresh until February 2024.

And, as always, every purchase helps us support the Fredericksburg Community Library. So make your list, check it twice, then come visit us for unique holiday finds!

All three days, the more you shop, the more entries you will have in our raffle for a $50 gift certificate. (One entry for each $10 spent. Plus every purchase helps us provide funds for the local library!) See something you want for Christmas? Be sure to fill out a letter to Santa! (Then pass it on to someone who might be having a hard time coming up with gift ideas for you!)

Every child is an artist, and we want to help them create! Pick up this free flower craft for kids when you visit Simply Hand Made this summer. Each kit includes a link for video instructions, plus information about upcoming children’s activities provided by the Fredericksburg Community Library and Simply Hand Made!

Snow and ice may have delayed our reopening, but now we are back! Open 9:00-4:00 Thursday-Saturday!

As we are staffed by volunteers, we will be closed any time the Southeast Local school district is closed due to weather. We never want our volunteers to feel unsafe driving on the roads to help us in the shop. When planning a visit, please feel free to call ahead to make sure a volunteer will be there that day, or to schedule an appointment outside of our normal open hours.

We look forward to sharing more amazing artisan work with you in the coming year!
